Steve Gregory
A Police Officer since 1977, Steve Gregory first became involved in major incidents in the 1980s. A specialist in body recovery with the Metropolitan Police he was was promoted to Inspector in 1999. In the same year he assisted the United Nations in Kosovo in the exhumation of mass graves and the identification of war crime victims. An acknowledged specialist in Victim (body) Recovery and Major Incident Management he is responsible for advising senior and strategic managers regarding incident management, victim recovery, identification integrity and continuity. Recent deployments include the Tsunami in South East Asia, the bombings in London and Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt both in July 2005. Steve is curently employed by Centrex as the disaster management specialist and is a National Co-ordinator and a member of the Association of Chief Police Officers Major Disaster Advisory Team (MDAT). He is an advisor to the Home Office on emergency response and mass fatality issues, including victim recovery within a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) incident, and a member of the Home Office UK Disaster Victim Identification Team Advisory Group. Steve has been the worthy recipient of numerous commendations and awards.
