Margaret Samuels
Margaret Samuels LCSW, is a clinical social worker with expertise in working with traumatized children and families and has extensive experience in intervention and program development for children and families affected by domestic, community, and ethnic violence. She is currently Deputy Director at the Center for Child and Family Health a consortia agency of Duke University and is a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry. Her expertise was called upon to develop and facilitate programs involving collaboration with justice personnel and community providers in New York for post 9/11 clinical services, and in New Haven for children exposed to community and family violence. She has extensive experience of developing programs and training staff to work with families of missing and deceased persons in Iraq, Bosnia, and Kosovo. Collaborating with various human rights and international organizations on the psychosocial ramifications of missing and deceased persons due to war and conflict she has developed and implemented training curricula.
