Giles Chichester
Giles was educated at Westminster School and Christ Church Oxford where he read Geography. Active in politics, he initially combined this with a career in his family business (Francis Chichester Ltd.) and has been active in the Conservative party on myriad levels since the 70s. His roles include Chair of numerous committees and fora for the Conservative party and he was a member of their NAC between 1988-90 and 1997-8. He has been an MEP since 1994, becoming MEP for the South West in 1999. His diverse political interests include international affairs and a broad spectrum of environmental issues. Following his father (Sir Francis Chichester KBE), he an experienced transatlantic sailor.
