Tony Robinson
Tony Robinson is a British actor and writer best known for his role as Baldrick in ‘Blackadder’ and as presenter and associate producer of Channel Four’s series on archaeology, ‘Time Team’. Aside from such activities he was Vice President of Equity, the British Actors' Union (1996-2000) and a consultant on children's programming for the London Symphony Orchestra (1998-2000). He is a prolific author and has won awards for his contribution to children’s TV as well as a BAFTA and the International Prix Jeunesses. Passionate about politics, he is currently a member of the Labour Party National Executive Committee and Labour Party Joint Policy Committee. In 2000 he was awarded an honourary MA by Bristol University for his services to theatre and archaeology. His charitable endeavours include being an active member of Comic Relief and Oxfam; he is firmly committed to human rights causes.
